The Vigezzo valley is the most tourist-y and popular of the Ossola valleys. Geographically different from the Ossola sisters, the Vigezzo valley opens onto a spacious plateau, which extends from east to west. Very sunny and served by a large state road and the Vigezzina railway, it's the ideal destination for a stay full of nature and relaxation!
The perfect choice for families and hikers, this valley offers a piece of nature which is still authentic and traditions which are still deeply rooted in the people and places. Here you can still buy local mountain pasture cheeses made just like they used to be "once upon a time", excellent salami and the famous smoked Vigezzino ham.
Every year in Santa Maria Maggiore in the Vigezzo valley there is the International Meeting of Chimney Sweeps, an event which attracts thousands of people, with groups of chimney sweeps from all over the world. So many colours, languages and rivers of beer! An event you have to see and experience at least once... Generally scheduled for the first week of September, it starts on Friday evening, continues on Saturday with the black night and on Sunday morning with the famous parade, and then finishes on Sunday afternoon with the award ceremony. If you’reinterested, you should book several months in advance, because these days it's difficult to find a place to stay overnight in the Vigezzo valley... Unmissable!

The facilities of the Piana di Vigezzo include a good 20 km of slopes! 7 km of easy slopes, 10 km of medium slopes and 3 km of difficult slopes. You can buy a subscription online.
In Santa Maria Maggiore there is the beautiful cross-country track with two easy 2.5 km rings, S. Maria Maggiore-Malesco ring 7.5 km medium/easy and S. Maria Maggiore-Druogno ring 7.5 km medium/difficult

commitments and any presence or arrival of other guests.
You can park your car near the apartment; however, we recommend that you leave your car in the parking spaces in via Marconi or in via G. Matteotti in the large car park at the entrance to the square, as the road which leads into the historic centre in via Trieste is very narrow.
